Elizabeth Eckles

Having obtained a degree in Mathematics from Worcester College, Oxford Elizabeth qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London.  After qualification Elizabeth explored a range of careers ranging from investment banking in London to plant propagation at the Auckland Regional Botanic Gardens. Eventually returning to the UK she settled into a career with the NHS working in senior finance roles and obtaining an MSc in Health Economics and Health Policy at the University of Birmingham.  During her years working with the NHS Elizabeth developed an approach to demonstrating value for money in the not-for-profit environment, led the establishment of a new finance team and worked within a turnaround team.

Elizabeth took up her current role as Bursar of the Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland in September 2022.

Outside of work Elizabeth enjoys gardening, golf and bridge.
