Part of our offer since 1901, our Undergraduate Tuition Fee Grants which provide funding for individuals from low-income households who want to study for a first degree at university, or a second degree in limited subject areas.

The scheme will reopen for applications for Academic Year 26/27 on 1 June 2026

Our Vacation Scholarships support undergraduate students from low-income Scottish households to develop their research skills by undertaking a short research project in the summer vacation, under the supervision of an established academic.

The scheme closed to applications for 2026/27 on 13th February 2026.

Our new Carnegie Masters Grants launched in 2026/27 are designed to help graduates in Scotland, who otherwise couldn’t afford it, meet the costs of postgraduate study. They are aimed at talented students from low-income Scottish households and are intended to equip graduates with the skills and expertise to fulfil their ambitions and make a wider contribution to Scotland.

The scheme will open for applications for Academic Year 26/27 on 1 May 2026
