Contribute an Alumni Story

As part of a research project looking at the Trust’s history and impact, we are building a new catalogue of Alumni Stories.

Since its inception in 1901, the Trust has supported over 70,000 individuals to access higher education opportunities in Scotland through tuition fee payments and many more through research grants and scholarships. We know that some of the people we supported have gone on to do incredible things and that, for many, their experience in higher education was a pivotal moment in their lives.

The stories of the individuals that we have supported are an essential part of the Trust’s own story, telling us about the contribution that Carnegie’s legacy has had over the past century and helping us to think about how, looking ahead, we can continue to make a positive impact on the lives of learners in Scotland.

We are interested to hear from contemporary alumni, past recipients of grants, writers who have researched prominent ex-Alumni, descendants of deceased Alumni and anyone else who has a story to share connected to the Trust’s grant-making.  We’re particularly keen to hear about historical and contemporary grantees for whom the Trust’s funding and access to higher education have been transformative, or instrumental.

You can submit a story using our online form or email us at admin@carnegie-trust.org.
